As most people on here know, I’m neither a “Gun Nut” nor am I a believer in gun control. Am I a gun owner, yes. And as a gun owner who has been around firearms my whole life I admit that there is a problem. And the problem started 30 years ago when Reagan emptied out the damn asylums and made it almost impossible to get people who need mental health services the services that they need. I, as a gun owner, would have nothing against a nationwide mental health database to make sure this people don’t get guns. But that is only a stopgap measure at best. what is needed is aggressive mental health laws that allow a family to get the person the help they need including being able to involuntary commitment of mentally disturbed people. Only then will you see this shootings stop.
