Below is a link to a video I just posted on Powder Coating a clad coin ring to prevent the dreaded “Green” finger that happens when a person wears something with a lot of copper in it. For those that don’t know what powder coating is, it is a way to stick a powdered pigment using static electricity to metal. You then bake the part, or in this case ring, at 400 degrees for roughly 25 min. When cooled, you have a coating that is near impossible to remove like this.
Powder coating comes in hundreds if not thousands of colors, including clear coat, and is the best way I’ve found to seal a clad or copper ring. I’ll be offering this on the website soon.
