Here in Ohio in case yo haven’t heard we have a proposed weed legalization issue on next months ballot called Issue 3 and is backed by a group that calls itself “Responsible Ohio”. Issue 3 is the biggest piece of shit to be on the ballot in my lifetime here in Ohio. Why you ask, would an old stoner like myself be opposed to legal weed? I’m not, I’m opposed to a freakin monopoly. Issue 3 would confine all commercial growing to only 10 ten sites in the whole state! Land that of course is owned by the backers of issue 3. It would only allow a person to grow 4 plants for their own use, and if you have more than 2 plants blooming at once, you’er screwed. If you have more than an 1/8 on an ounce of homegrown, again, you’er screwed. Now you ask, well why not just pass it and then fix it? Because this isn’t a proposed law, but an amendment to the freakin Ohio Constitution! Once passed, it cannot just be changed! Now again, you would think that people would be totally opposed and see this crap for what it is, a snow job. But again, you would be wrong for there are many, many morons out there that are totally fine with this shit.
Oh, and to be able to grow your 4 plants, you must register with the county sheriffs department and give up your right to have a search warrant. Or in other words, you’re screwed again and they didn’t even get you any K.Y. Jelly!!
Now like I said, I’m an old stoner. And I what to see weed as legal as the next stoner. BUT NOT THIS WAY! Luckily, there is also issue 2, that would outlaw what Issue 3 is trying to do. The reasoning is that if they both pass, 2 would override 3 but with the amount of money being spent to promote 3, you can bet that if both do pass, Issue 3’s backers will sue the state. All I can say is that these fuck ups that think that 3 is the way to go are so blinded by the on greed thinking that they will be allowed to “cash” in and a Colorado style “Weed Boom” that they are not using the shit they must have for brains! Only a little over 300 acres would be set aside for weed production, do this morons really think that with all the money that the backers of Issue 3 are pouring in this that if it passes they are going to allow them the use of any of this land? I can assure you that the 10, and only 10, grow sites that are mentioned in the issue, which is all owned by the backers of R.O. have already promised the land to their own cronies.
There are other efforts, other groups like OTEP as well Responsible Ohioans for Cannabis, R.O.C. for short. Are trying to get much better and saner plans on the ballot for next year and I call on all those in Ohio to vote NO on 3.
And in case you’re wondering about the R.O.C. & R.O. names, why they sound so much alike? R.O.C. has been around for about 5 years, R.O. just “popped” up last year out of nowhere.
